Establishment purpose
Establishment purpose
We hope all Japanese nationals will develop an awareness of the people of the world, and for mutual friendship we launched an international exchange center, with the aim of gaining a deeper understanding of a large number of cultures and peoples, and contributing to world peace.
The guiding principals of our work
- To help develop the international homestay system and make sure it is well prepared.
- To implement exchanges between foreigners and Japanese.
- To teach Japanese using a “language laboratory system.”
- To encourage cultural exchange with foreigners.
- To research foreign languages and Japanese, traditions and customs, and history from a cultural perspective and spread the results of our work.
- To help foreigners come to Japan for homestay visits, and make sure they are well prepared.
- To create facilities for foreigners to use in order to learn the Japanese language and culture.
- To create the books and audio-visual materials needed to ficilitate international exchange.
- To create related materials for this purpose.
- To operate facilities such as accomodations, camp sites and places to mee to facilitate international exchange.
- To help facilitate research meetings and cultural meetings.
- To work to achieve the aims of previous visitors and those of our organization.

Labo International Exchange Foundation-research organization
Tokyo Institute for Advanced Studies of Language
was established in April 1966 to do fundamental studies of linguistics and research on simple ways to improve teaching. The organization is run by leading academics in the field and uses original research methods. The organization's principal aim is to study linguistics so that institutions both in Japan and abroad have satisfactory teaching methods and can spread literacy. Through linguistic study in Japan we aim to give a better idea of the world and constantly improve the nation's academic culture.

Labo Teaching-Information Center
Established in 1966 Labo Teaching-Information Center started running “Labo Party.” Now, the group does activities throughout the country for all young people, from babies to university students. To promote language education. It also helps to run the “Labo Library,” which uses both world-famous and original storybooks in Japanese and foreign languages, as well as original CDs and picture books.
